do fish drink water

Water everywhere and not a drop to drink.” Talking about the sea, of course. Each 100 pounds of seawater contains almost 4 pounds of salt. You can’t drink that. What do marine mammals such as dolphins, manatees, orcas, seals and whales drink?
Marine mammals do not actually drink. They get all the water they need from the fish that they eat. The fish they eat do drink the sea water – lots of it – which is processed through diffusion and osmosis
Marine mammals in captivity that for some reason are not eating are fed freshwater from a pipe or bottl

We have four basic tastes plus umami. The salt and sweet taste buds are at the tip of the tongue, bitter at the base, and sour along the sides; umami is a mixture of tastes sensed along the center of the tongue.
Not all our taste buds are on our tongue; about 10% are on the palette and the cheeks.

Your middle fingernail grows the fastest.
Your finger nails grow at 1 nanometre per second (0.000 000 001 m/s). Your hair grows at 4 nanometres per second (0.000 000 004 m/s).
It takes about 3 months for the transplanted hair to start growing again.

Approximately two-thirds of a person’s body weight is water. Blood is 92% water. The brain is 75% water and muscles are 75% water.
The colored part of the eye is called the iris. Behind the iris is the soft, rubbery lens which focuses the light on to a layer, called the retina, in the back of the eye. The retina contains about 125 million rods and 7 million cones. The rods pick up shades of gray and help us see in dim light. The cones work best in bright light to pick up colors.
We actually do not see with our eyes – we see with our brains. The eyes basically are the cameras of the brain.

do you know why insects have antennae

We have noses which help us smell the world around us. Insects use their antennae or much the same purpose. Although our noses are quite sensitive, insects have a much stronger sense of smell.
The female emperor moth gives out tiny amounts of chemicals called pheromones . using this antennae, the male emperor moth can smell the pheromones almost two km away!!!  His antennae are large and feathery, which improves his ability to smell.
Crickets, the insects you can hear on summer evening have long thin antennae which they use to search for food. To make sure that the antennae work at peak efficiency most insects spend a lot of time cleaning and grooming them

prevent earthquakes

Do you know how can we prevent earthquakes??

Earthquakes are among the worst natural disasters. Thousands of people die in severe earthquakes when entire cities, town, and farm would land s are destroyed. If we ccould predict earthquakes, it would be possible to move people and valuable  to safer  places before the damage took place china has suffered some terrible earthquakes and scientist  there are always searching for different ways to forecast them. In 1975 , they were dramatically successful they cleared the city of haicheng two hours before an earthquake struck. But we still do not have  a foolproof method prediction
Earthquake create small tremors which can act as an advance warning. Changes also occur in the electric and magnetic properties of rocks and often gas called radon is released. Radon dissolves in water, so if the radon content of lake or well water increases, an earthquake may well be on its way.
Some people reports that dogs howl, animal run from building and fish thrash about in water before an earthquake. Could they sense something we cannot?????
DO YOU KNOW HOW PEARLS ARE FORMED?

Oysters are shellfish that live on sea and river beds. When they are hungry, they open their shell and draw in water, containing small edible creatures.
Something a tiny piece of sand may get trapped inside the shell. This irritates the oyster just as a dust particle may irritate your eye. This stimulates the oyster to stimulate called “mother of pearl”
This coats the sand particle smoothly so that it cannot hurt the oysters soft body. It coats the tiny particle upon the layer of this shiny substance until finally a beautifull pearl is formed. Most pearls today are cultured. This means that a grain of sand has been deliberately put inside the shell, forcing the oyster to form a pearl.

do you know which animal apart from bird can fly?

.
we all know that birds can fly. so can insects, but there are many other creatures which can also fly.
Bats are instance are mammals which are capable of true flight. several species of flying fish can be found in the indian and atlantic oceans. but they donot really fly like birds. they merely glide over the water for long distance. some tropical frogs have large webs of skin streched between their fingers and toes. they jump from tree to tree and glide using thewebbed skin as parachute. the golden tree snakes of malaya takes off from the tops of tree and sail. the flying squirrel has flaps of skin on its undersites which it uses to glide from tree to tree.
